Question: Why doesn't the Finger Feature on the stock Festool Support Bracket fully seat into the TSO Products Guide Rail Locator?
Answer: This behavior is intentional and is part of the design of the Guide Rail Locator. Allowing the Finger Feature to remain slightly unseated helps ensure that the guide rail is properly centered and stays square to the bench during use.
If the Finger Feature were allowed to fully seat into the Guide Rail Locator, normal tolerance variations in the stock Festool components — which are outside of our control — could negatively affect the accuracy of the alignment.
By incorporating a small amount of intentional clearance into the interface, the system is able to provide more consistent and repeatable alignment performance across a wider range of real-world situations.
